Eat or drink 15–20 grams of fast-acting carbohydrates
Drink fruit juice
Drink regular soda
Take glucose tablets
Take glucose gel
Eat hard candy
Eat honey or sugar
Eat raisins or other dried fruit
Recheck blood glucose after 15 minutes
Repeat fast-acting carbohydrates if still low
Eat a snack with protein and complex carbohydrates after recovery
Avoid driving or operating machinery until glucose is normal
Seek emergency help if symptoms are severe or the person is unconscious
