Gather a replacement toilet seat, a screwdriver, and any included bolts, nuts, or washers
Remove the old seat by opening the bolt caps and loosening the mounting bolts from underneath
Lift off the old seat and clean the toilet rim and mounting holes
Align the new seat with the mounting holes
Insert the bolts through the seat hinges and toilet holes
Tighten the nuts underneath until the seat is secure
Check that the seat is centered and opens and closes properly
Tighten any loose hardware as needed
Snap the bolt caps closed if included
