Unbox the portable air conditioner and check all parts
Read the manufacturer’s installation manual
Place the unit near a window and a power outlet
Keep the unit upright for the required time before use
Attach the exhaust hose to the unit
Install the window kit in the window opening
Connect the other end of the exhaust hose to the window kit
Make sure the hose is straight and not kinked
Secure all connections tightly
Install the drain hose if the model requires one
Plug the unit directly into a grounded outlet
Turn on the unit and test cooling mode
Check for air leaks around the window kit
Adjust the setup if needed for a tight seal
