Turn off power to the kitchen circuit
Remove the old hood if replacing one
Measure and mark the mounting location
Locate wall studs or ceiling joists
Check the hood’s installation template and clearance requirements
Cut any needed vent opening in the wall or ceiling
Install the ductwork and exterior vent cap if venting outside
Run electrical wiring to the hood location
Mount the range hood bracket or support
Lift the hood into place and secure it to the wall or cabinet
Connect the duct to the hood if applicable
Connect the electrical wiring
Install filters, cover panels, and light bulbs
Restore power and test the fan and lights
Check for secure mounting, proper airflow, and air leaks
