Turn off the water supply
Remove the old shower handle screw or cap
Pull the old handle off the valve stem
Clean the valve stem and surrounding area
Align the new handle with the valve stem
Slide the new handle into place
Tighten the set screw or mounting screw
Snap the decorative cap back on if included
Turn the water supply back on
Test the handle for proper operation
Tighten any loose parts if needed
