Assemble the new light fixture according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Connect the fixture wires to the house wires
Match black to black, white to white, and ground to ground
Secure wire connections with wire nuts
Attach the fixture to the mounting bracket or ceiling box
Install the light bulbs, if required
Attach any shades, covers, or decorative parts
Restore power at the circuit breaker
Test the light switch to confirm proper operation
