Turn off power at the circuit breaker
Verify power is off with a voltage tester
Remove the old fixture or prepare the installation area
Install the electrical box if needed
Mount the light fixture bracket
Connect the fixture wires to the house wires
Connect ground wires together
Secure wire connections with wire nuts
Attach the light fixture to the mounting bracket
Install the light bulb
Install the switch in the electrical box
Connect the switch wires to the circuit wires
Secure the switch and cover plate
Restore power at the breaker
Test the switch and light fixture
