Check whether you still receive notifications from that chat
Look for a muted bell icon in the conversation
Open the chat info and see if notifications are turned off
Notice if messages from that person no longer alert you
Check if the chat appears in your muted conversations list
Review Messenger notification settings for that specific chat
Ask the other person if they can still contact you normally
Send a message and see whether you get any notification behavior changes
