Start with the heel-lock or runner’s loop lacing method
Lace the shoes normally through the lower eyelets
Use the top two eyelets on each side for the heel-lock
Thread each lace end straight up through the top eyelet on the same side
Cross each lace end over and feed it through the loop on the opposite side
Pull both lace ends down and back to tighten the heel area
Tighten the laces from the forefoot to the ankle before tying
Keep the midfoot snug without over-tightening the toes
Tie a secure double knot
Use thicker or slightly shorter laces if the current laces slip easily
Try skipping an eyelet near the forefoot if extra heel lock is needed
Re-lace and adjust tension evenly on both sides
Test the fit by walking and jogging before running
Replace worn insoles or socks if heel slip continues
Choose shoes with a better heel cup if lacing adjustments do not help
