Plant hyacinth bulbs in well-drained soil
Choose a sunny or lightly shaded location
Plant bulbs in autumn
Set bulbs about 10–15 cm deep
Space bulbs about 10 cm apart
Water after planting
Keep soil moist but not soggy during growth
Avoid overwatering
Feed with a balanced bulb fertilizer in early spring
Remove faded flowers after blooming
Leave the leaves until they turn yellow and die back naturally
Stop watering once foliage begins to die back
Lift and store bulbs if soil is very wet or if growing in containers
Protect bulbs from severe frost with mulch if needed
Watch for pests and rot
Replant bulbs each year if necessary
