Fold the paper in half horizontally
Unfold it
Fold the paper in half vertically
Unfold it
Push the sides inward to form a triangle base
Fold the top layer corners up to make a kite shape
Flip the paper over
Fold the top layer corners up again to match the other side
Fold the top point downward slightly
Fold the bottom point upward to form the butterfly body
Fold the wings outward on both sides
Shape the wings as desired
