Gather colored paper, scissors, glue, and a pencil
Cut a square piece of paper
Fold the square in half
Fold it in half again to make a smaller square
Fold the paper diagonally
Cut the folded paper into a rounded petal shape
Unfold the paper
Cut a spiral shape from the outer edge toward the center
Keep the center circle intact
Start rolling the outer end of the spiral tightly
Continue rolling until you reach the center
Let the rolled paper loosen slightly to form petals
Apply glue to the center circle
Press the rolled rose base onto the glued center
Hold it in place until it sticks
Shape the petals with your fingers
Cut a small green paper leaf if desired
Glue the leaf to the base of the rose
