Cut the wooden frame pieces to size
Assemble the base frame with screws and wood glue
Build the backrest and armrest frames
Reinforce all joints with corner blocks or brackets
Attach support webbing or install springs on the seat frame
Add plywood or support panels where needed
Cut foam for the seat, back, and arms
Wrap foam with batting
Attach foam to the frame with adhesive
Cut upholstery fabric with extra allowance
Sew fabric panels and seams as needed
Stretch and staple the fabric over the frame
Smooth and secure corners and edges
Add cushions if desired
Attach legs or base supports
Inspect and tighten all fasteners
Trim excess fabric
Place the finished sofa in position
