Choose your coffee type and grind level (whole bean → grind fresh; medium-fine for most brewers)
Measure coffee and water (start with about 1:16 coffee-to-water by weight)
Preheat your brewer and rinse the filter (if using paper filters)
Add coffee to the filter or portafilter
Heat water to the right temperature (about 90–96°C / 195–205°F)
Brew using your method:
Drip machine: start brew cycle
Pour-over: wet grounds, then pour in slow circles until desired volume
French press: add hot water, steep 4 minutes, press slowly
AeroPress: assemble, add grounds and water, steep ~1–2 minutes, press
Espresso machine: dose, tamp, lock in, extract until target yield
Cold brew: combine coarse grounds with cold water, steep 12–18 hours, strain
Stop the brew when you reach the target amount and strength
Stir and taste; adjust grind size, ratio, or brew time for next batch
Serve immediately or chill (for cold brew) and store leftovers refrigerated
