How To Make French Toast?

Ingredients:

4 slices bread (day-old or thick-cut preferred)

2 large eggs

1/2 to 3/4 cup milk

1 to 2 tbsp sugar (optional)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

1/4 tsp salt

2 to 4 tbsp butter or neutral oil (for cooking)

Steps:

In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar (if using), vanilla, cinnamon (if using), and salt.

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add butter or oil.

Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, soaking 10 to 30 seconds per side (until coated but not falling apart).

Place soaked bread on the hot skillet.

Cook 2 to 4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.

Transfer to a plate and repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter or oil as needed.

Serve immediately with toppings such as maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
