How To Make Homemade French Fries?

Choose starchy potatoes like Russet or Idaho

Wash and peel the potatoes if desired

Cut the potatoes into even sticks

Rinse the cut potatoes in cold water

Soak the potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes to 1 hour

Drain and dry the potatoes completely

Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 325°F to 350°F

Fry the potatoes in small batches for 3 to 5 minutes

Remove the fries and drain them on paper towels

Let the fries cool for 10 to 20 minutes

Increase the oil temperature to 375°F

Fry the potatoes again for 2 to 4 minutes until golden and crispy

Remove and drain the fries again

Season immediately with salt

Serve hot
