1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Beat the butter until smooth and creamy
Add the powdered sugar gradually
Add the milk or cream one tablespoon at a time
Add the vanilla extract
Add the salt
Beat until light and fluffy
Add more powdered sugar for a thicker frosting
Add more milk or cream for a thinner frosting
Use immediately or store covered in the refrigerator
