How To Make Orange Marmalade?

Wash 4 to 5 oranges thoroughly

Peel the oranges, keeping the peel

Remove the white pith from the peel

Slice the peel into thin strips

Remove seeds and set them aside

Chop the orange flesh

Place peel, flesh, seeds, and any juice in a pot

Add 4 cups of water

Let the mixture soak overnight or for several hours

Bring the mixture to a boil

Reduce heat and simmer until the peel is soft

Remove the seeds in a tied cheesecloth or strainer

Add 4 to 5 cups of sugar

Stir until the sugar dissolves

Boil the mixture until it reaches setting point

Test the marmalade on a chilled plate

Skim off any foam from the surface

Pour the hot marmalade into sterilized jars

Seal the jars while hot

Let the jars cool completely
