Ingredients:
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup butter
1 cup corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
9 cups Chex cereal (or similar)
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 to 1 cup additional powdered sugar (as needed for coating)
Make the coating:
In a saucepan, combine peanut butter, butter, and corn syrup.
Cook over low heat until melted and smooth.
Stir in vanilla and salt.
Prepare the cereal:
Place cereal in a large mixing bowl.
Combine:
Pour warm mixture over cereal.
Gently toss until evenly coated.
Coat with powdered sugar:
Sprinkle powdered sugar over coated cereal.
Toss until cereal is fully coated and no longer sticky.
Set and serve:
Spread on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Let cool and set 15 to 30 minutes.
Break apart any clumps and serve.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 to 5 days.
