Gather materials: 5–6 iron ingots, 4 sticks, 1–2 redstone dust, 1 minecart (optional), 1 furnace (optional)
Craft a furnace (optional) using 8 cobblestone and open the crafting grid
Craft rails:
6 iron ingots + 1 stick → 16 rails
Craft powered rails:
6 gold ingots + 1 stick + 1 redstone dust → 6 powered rails
Craft detector rails:
6 iron ingots + 1 stick + 1 redstone dust → 6 detector rails
Craft activator rails:
6 gold ingots + 1 stick + 1 redstone dust → 6 activator rails
Place rails:
Stand where you want the track
Right-click/place the rail block on the ground
Connect rails:
Place rails adjacent to existing rail blocks to extend the track
Shape rails:
Use the rail placement style (straight/curved) by placing on different adjacent faces
Add slopes:
Use rail placement on blocks with height differences to create ascending/descending rail segments
Test with minecarts (optional):
Place a minecart on the rail by using the minecart item on the track
Power powered rails (optional):
Place redstone next to powered rails and power them to activate minecart acceleration
