Measure the bat from the knob at the bottom of the handle to the end of the barrel
Use a tape measure or ruler
Record the length in inches or centimeters
Check the bat’s weight on a scale
Compare the length and weight to the player’s height, age, and strength
For baseball bats, verify the bat length printed on the bat if available
For cricket bats, measure the full bat length from toe to top of handle
For softball bats, measure the same way as baseball bats
Make sure the bat is placed straight and flat while measuring
Use the manufacturer’s size chart for the correct bat size
