Gather matching yarn or thread, a needle, scissors, and a darning mushroom or small bowl
Turn the sweater inside out
Trim any loose or frayed fibers around the hole
Thread the needle with matching yarn or thread
Stitch around the edge of the hole to secure the fabric
Weave the thread across the hole in one direction
Weave back across the hole in the opposite direction to create a patch
Keep stitches close together for a tight repair
Tie off the thread securely on the inside
Trim any excess thread
Turn the sweater right side out
Gently stretch and smooth the repaired area
