Rename the `.pages` file to `.zip`
Open the `.zip` file with File Explorer or an archive tool
Extract the contents
Open the `QuickLook` folder
Open `Preview.pdf` if it exists
Open `Thumbnail.jpg` if a PDF is not available
Upload the `.pages` file to iCloud Drive
Open it in Pages for iCloud using a web browser
Export the document as `.docx` or `.pdf`
Open the exported file in Microsoft Word or a PDF reader
Ask the sender to export the file as `.docx` before sending
