Unplug the lamp and let the bulb cool completely
Remove the bulb, harp, finial, and lampshade
Wrap the bulb separately in paper or bubble wrap
Wrap the lampshade in clean packing paper and place it in a separate box
Secure loose cords with tape or a twist tie
Wrap the lamp base and body in several layers of packing paper or bubble wrap
Use tape to hold the wrapping in place, avoiding direct contact with the lamp finish when possible
Place crumpled packing paper or foam in the bottom of a sturdy box
Set the wrapped lamp upright in the box
Fill empty spaces with packing paper, towels, or foam to prevent shifting
Pack multiple lamps separately or divide them with cardboard dividers
Mark the box as fragile and upright
Seal the box securely with packing tape
Keep the box with lamps away from heavy items during transport
