Let the primer dry completely
Apply thin, even coats of paint
Let each coat dry before adding the next
Add multiple coats until coverage is even
Paint details with small brushes if needed
Let the paint cure fully
Apply a clear sealant or finisher
Remove the tape carefully
Reinsert laces and insoles
Keep the shoes dry while curing
