Label each door, drawer, and hardware piece for reassembly
Clean all surfaces thoroughly with a degreaser
Repair dents, holes, and imperfections with wood filler
Sand all surfaces to dull the finish and improve adhesion
Remove sanding dust with a vacuum and tack cloth
Tape off surrounding walls, countertops, and fixtures
Apply a bonding primer to all cabinet surfaces
Let the primer dry completely
Lightly sand the primed surfaces for smoothness
Wipe away dust again before painting
Apply the first coat of cabinet paint with a brush, roller, or sprayer
Let the first coat dry fully
Apply a second coat if needed
Let the final coat cure completely before reassembly
Reinstall hardware, doors, and drawers
Avoid heavy use until the paint has fully cured
