Choose the right flowers for your climate and sunlight
Pick a planting location with suitable soil and drainage
Clear weeds, rocks, and debris from the area
Loosen the soil with a shovel or garden fork
Mix in compost or other organic matter if needed
Dig a hole slightly larger than the plant’s root ball
Remove the flower from its container carefully
Gently loosen any tightly bound roots
Place the flower in the hole at the same depth it was growing before
Fill the hole with soil and press it lightly
Water the flower thoroughly after planting
Add mulch around the base, keeping it away from the stem
Water regularly until the plant is established
