How To Plant Onion Bulbs?

Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil

Loosen the soil to a depth of 6 to 8 inches

Remove rocks, weeds, and debris from the planting area

Mix in compost or aged manure if needed

Plant onion bulbs 1 to 2 inches deep

Space bulbs 4 to 6 inches apart

Keep rows 12 to 18 inches apart

Place the pointed end of each bulb facing up

Cover bulbs with soil and gently firm it down

Keep the soil consistently moist, not soggy

Remove weeds regularly

Harvest when the tops begin to yellow and fall over
