Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs mostly clear
Add the rice to the pressure cooker
Add the correct amount of water
Add salt if desired
Close and lock the lid
Set the pressure cooker to high pressure
Cook for 3 to 8 minutes depending on the type of rice
Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes
Release any remaining pressure carefully
Open the lid
Fluff the rice with a fork
Serve immediately
