Keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you are ready to fire
Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction at all times
Use a firm, high grip on the handgun
Place your dominant hand high on the backstrap
Wrap your dominant hand firmly around the grip
Place your support hand on the exposed grip area
Rotate the support hand forward so the fingers point toward the target
Stack the support hand thumb below or alongside the dominant hand thumb
Apply even pressure from both hands
Keep both wrists locked and aligned
Keep your elbows slightly bent
Maintain a stable stance with feet shoulder-width apart
Keep your head upright and eyes on the sights
Align the sights before pressing the trigger
Avoid crossing thumbs over the slide or hammer area
Ensure your grip does not interfere with slide movement or controls
Practice safe handling with an unloaded firearm first
