Report the theft to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives if required in your area
Inform the firearm’s manufacturer or dealer if needed for records
Check local and state laws for any additional reporting requirements
Keep all documents, receipts, and correspondence related to the theft
