Gather a clean vase, fresh flowers, clean water, and flower food if available
Remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline
Trim the stems at an angle with sharp scissors or a knife
Fill the vase with clean, lukewarm water
Add flower food if provided and mix it in
Arrange the flowers by placing the largest blooms first
Add smaller flowers and greenery to fill gaps
Adjust stem lengths so the arrangement has the desired shape
Make sure all stems are supported by the vase
Check that no leaves are touching the water
Place the vase in a cool spot away from direct sunlight and heat
Change the water regularly and retrim stems as needed
