Park the vehicle on level ground
Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes
Open the hood and locate the dipstick
Pull the dipstick out completely
Wipe it clean with a lint-free cloth or paper towel
Reinsert the dipstick fully into the tube
Pull it out again to check the oil level
Read the oil level between the minimum and maximum marks
Add oil if the level is below the minimum mark
Check the oil’s color and consistency
Reinsert the dipstick securely after checking
