Lie down and elevate your legs above heart level
Drink water quickly
Drink an electrolyte drink or oral rehydration solution
Eat a salty snack if you are allowed sodium
Avoid standing up suddenly
Tighten your leg, butt, and abdominal muscles
Cross your legs and squeeze them together
Wear compression stockings if available
Sip caffeine if you normally tolerate it
Eat a small meal if low blood pressure follows not eating
Avoid alcohol
Seek urgent medical help if you faint, have chest pain, shortness of breath, confusion, or severe weakness
