Turn on the PS4
Connect the PS4 controller to the PS4 with a USB cable
Press the PS button on the controller
Wait for the controller light to turn solid
Unplug the USB cable after pairing
If it does not connect, try a different USB cable
If needed, reset the controller with the small reset button on the back
Reconnect the controller with the USB cable and press the PS button again
