Open Microsoft Word
Go to File
Select Info
Click Manage Document or Manage Versions
Choose Recover Unsaved Documents
Select the unsaved file
Open the file
Save it immediately with a new name
Check the AutoRecover folder if the file is not listed
Search for files with .asd or .wbk extensions
Use Word’s Document Recovery pane if it appears after reopening Word
Check the Recycle Bin for deleted temporary files
Search your computer for recent Word files
Enable AutoRecover and set a shorter save interval for future protection
