Make sure the torch lighter is completely cool
Work in a well-ventilated area away from flames, sparks, and heat
Turn the flame adjustment to the lowest setting
Locate the refill valve on the bottom of the lighter
Hold the lighter upside down
Shake the butane refill canister if recommended by the manufacturer
Insert the canister nozzle firmly into the refill valve
Press down for a few seconds to transfer the butane
Repeat short fills until the tank is full
Stop when a small amount of butane begins to escape
Wait a few minutes for the fuel to settle
Adjust the flame to the desired level
Test the lighter away from your face and body
Check for leaks or unusual behavior before regular use
