Use only refined butane fuel
Turn the flame adjustment to the lowest setting
Make sure the lighter is completely cool
Work in a well-ventilated area away from flames and heat
Hold the lighter upside down
Purge remaining air by pressing the refill valve with a small tool until hissing stops
Shake the butane can before use
Match the correct nozzle adapter to the refill valve
Insert the nozzle firmly into the refill valve
Press the butane can straight down for 3 to 5 seconds
Repeat short fills until the tank is full
Let the lighter sit upright for 3 to 5 minutes
Adjust the flame to the desired level
Test the lighter away from your face and hands
Stop if fuel leaks, hissing continues, or the lighter does not ignite properly
