Turn off the water supply
Relieve pressure in the line
Remove any pipe support or access obstacles
Use a SharkBite disconnect clip or disconnect tongs
Place the clip around the pipe and fitting collar
Press the collar evenly toward the fitting
Pull the pipe straight out while holding the collar in place
If needed, rotate the pipe slightly while pulling
Inspect the pipe end and fitting for damage
Replace the fitting if it is damaged or reused improperly
