Clear the area under the sink
Place a bucket or towel under the drain
Locate the pivot rod connection on the back of the drain pipe
Loosen the retaining nut on the pivot rod
Pull the pivot rod out of the drain assembly
Lift the stopper plug straight up and out of the sink drain
If the stopper is stuck, wiggle it gently while lifting
Remove any debris or hair from the drain opening
Reinsert the stopper if needed
Reconnect the pivot rod and tighten the retaining nut
Test the stopper for proper movement
