Apply penetrating oil and let it soak
Use the correct screwdriver bit with firm downward pressure
Tap the screwdriver lightly to help it seat
Try a rubber band or steel wool for extra grip
Use locking pliers if part of the screw is exposed
Cut a new slot in the screw head with a rotary tool
Use a screw extractor kit
Drill a small pilot hole into the screw
Use a left-hand drill bit
Heat the surrounding metal to loosen the screw
Freeze the screw with compressed air if appropriate
Grip the screw with pliers after exposing more of it
Use a center punch to keep the drill bit from wandering
Drill the screw out completely if needed
Re-tap the hole and replace the screw
Replace damaged hardware after removal
