Center-punch the broken fastener
Drill a pilot hole into the fastener
Select an easy out that matches the hole size
Insert the easy out into the hole
Turn the easy out counterclockwise with a tap wrench or adjustable wrench
Apply steady pressure while turning
Stop if the extractor starts to slip or bind excessively
Remove the broken fastener once it loosens
Clean the threads after removal
Replace the fastener if needed
