Place the strap over or around the load and align the buckle or ratchet
Feed the loose end through the slot or spindle of the buckle or ratchet
Pull the strap through until it is snug
If using a ratchet, open the handle fully before threading
Insert the strap end through the bottom slot of the ratchet spindle
Pull the strap through the top slot and remove slack
Close and pump the ratchet handle to tighten
Keep the strap flat and untwisted while threading
Make sure the strap is centered on the load
Secure the loose end so it does not flap during transport
Check that the strap is locked in place before moving the load
