How To Remove Candle Wax?

Freeze the wax: Place the item in the freezer or apply an ice pack to harden the wax

Scrape off: Gently scrape off loosened wax with a plastic card or dull knife

Heat and blot (non-upholstery fabrics): Place paper towels on both sides and press with a warm iron until wax transfers to the paper

Heat and blot (carpet/upholstery): Hold a warm iron near the spot with paper towels underneath; replace towels as wax lifts

Hair dryer method: Blow hot air on the wax, then wipe or blot with paper towels

Use a wax remover solvent (for remaining residue): Apply rubbing alcohol, mineral spirits, or a commercial wax remover on a hidden spot first

Dish soap wash (for oily residue): Wash with warm water and dish soap, then launder as usual

For candles on glass/metal: Use a plastic scraper, then wipe with rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner

For wood: Warm slightly, scrape gently, then wipe with a cloth lightly dampened with mineral spirits; finish with wood cleaner

For plastics: Avoid high heat; freeze, scrape, then wipe with rubbing alcohol

Repeat as needed until no wax remains

Avoid soaking if the fabric is delicate or the wax has dyes that may bleed
