How To Replace Ignition Switch?

Disconnect the negative battery cable

Remove the steering column covers or dash trim as needed

Locate the ignition switch assembly

Unplug the electrical connector from the ignition switch

Remove any retaining screws, bolts, or clips

Take out the old ignition switch

Install the new ignition switch in the same position

Reinstall and tighten the retaining hardware

Reconnect the electrical connector

Reinstall the steering column covers or dash trim

Reconnect the negative battery cable

Test the ignition switch with the key or start button

Verify the vehicle starts and all switch positions work properly
