How to Reseason Cast Iron Pan?

Wash the pan with hot water and a small amount of mild soap if needed

Scrub off rust, stuck-on food, or old flaky seasoning with a stiff brush or steel wool

Dry the pan completely with a towel

Heat the pan on the stove or in the oven until all moisture is gone

Apply a very thin layer of oil to the entire pan, inside and out

Wipe off all excess oil until the surface looks nearly dry

Place the pan upside down in a preheated oven at 450°F to 500°F

Put foil or a baking sheet on the lower rack to catch drips

Bake for 1 hour

Turn off the oven and let the pan cool inside

Repeat the oiling and baking process 2 to 3 times for a stronger seasoning

Use the pan regularly and dry it well after each wash
