Use a Microsoft account password reset from another device at account.live.com/password/reset
Use a password reset disk if one was created earlier
Use another administrator account on the PC to change the password
Use Windows Recovery Environment to access Advanced options
Open Command Prompt from recovery options
Replace utilman.exe with cmd.exe only if you are authorized to administer the device
Reboot and open Command Prompt from the sign-in screen
Reset the local account password with net user
Restore the original utilman.exe after resetting the password
Use Safe Mode with Command Prompt if enabled and accessible
Use a Windows installation USB to access recovery tools
Perform a system reset if password recovery is not possible
Reinstall Windows if no recovery method works
