Leave unpeeled bananas at room temperature with the stem side up
Place bananas in a single layer in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight
Speed up ripening by placing bananas in a paper bag
Add an apple or a ripe banana to the paper bag to increase ripening speed
Check daily until they reach the desired ripeness
For faster ripening, use a warm spot (about 70–80°F / 21–27°C) and keep them unwrapped
Do not refrigerate until the bananas are ripe, if you want the best flavor and texture
To ripen in the fridge, refrigerate ripe bananas in a closed bag or container
To use immediately, bake unpeeled bananas at 300°F / 150°C for 15–20 minutes until skins turn very dark (for baking; texture will be softer)
