How To Sharpen A Knife With A Rod?

Hold the rod vertically with the tip resting on a stable surface

Grip the knife handle firmly

Place the heel of the blade against the rod at about a 15 to 20 degree angle

Draw the blade down and across the rod in a smooth motion

Move from the heel to the tip of the blade as you stroke

Repeat the same motion on the other side of the blade

Alternate sides evenly for several passes

Keep the angle consistent throughout each stroke

Use light to moderate pressure

Wipe the blade clean after sharpening

Test the edge carefully when finished
