Stop drinking alcohol immediately
Drink water or an electrolyte beverage
Eat a light, bland snack if you can keep food down
Sit or lie down in a safe place
Get fresh air
Rest and wait for your body to process the alcohol
Do not drive, bike, swim, or operate machinery
Do not take more alcohol
Do not take sleeping pills, opioids, or other drugs
If you feel very drowsy, confused, are vomiting repeatedly, have trouble breathing, or cannot stay awake, call emergency services immediately
If possible, have a sober person stay with you
